Eóin the Otter

Daddy took the boys to a friends house to go swimming yesterday while I had a little break. It was nice to have a quiet house for a while and a nice surprise to hear how well Eóin did in the full size pool. His feet didn't reach the bottom at all unless he was on the step, but with his floaties on, he swam around on his own no problem. Jonathan originally tried to teach him to "doggy paddle" but Eóin wasn't getting it. Eventually he decided he wanted to swim like an otter and off he went, so I guess he "otter paddles" :-)
Aidan was a bit more cautious and stayed in the raft all day, but he still had a good time.

We have had a busy few weeks here at the Harrison house and my morning sickness is back (boo), so I am a little behind in the blogging world.

I have lots of pics and news to post. but business first!

Congratulations to

The winner was drawn using random.org (this line is is brown because Eóin asked me to make it so)

Book Review: A Great Catch by Lorna Seilstad

Emily Graham is anything but graceful and her well meaning aunts are getting worried about her marital status. Even more worrisome to her aunts than her clumsiness, is her independent streak and loyal commitment to the suffragist movement. The last thing on Emily's mind though is marriage - she doesn't need a man, but women's rights need her!

Carter Stockton is working hard to be a success, although not the kind his family would like. While he is expected to join his father's business, Carter is spending the summer playing baseball for the Lake Manawa team.

When Carter and Emily's worlds literally collide, they have quite a time figuring out whose goals and plans are really the most important.

The second book in the series, I again enjoyed the carefree, easy writing style that fits the summery backdrop of Lake Manawa. I enjoyed that some of the characters from the last book returned, but you would not have to read the first book to follow the story at all - it reads well by itself. While not a super deep book, it is a nice light summer read that still has a few lessons to teach.

Thank you to Revell publishers for a free copy of this book to review.
